About Concept Submission

This topic provides an overview of the process of submitting a concept for a new Xbox One product group.

Each of your major titles constitutes its own product group of interrelated individual products. The product group for a new game title, for example, might include the core game product along with other products that are related to the core game, such as a trailer, map packs, and other durable and consumable additions to the core game.

When you begin the creation of an entirely new product group, the very first thing that you do is submit a proposal concerning that new product group to Microsoft for concept approval. This up-front, high-level submission benefits both Microsoft and you by identifying at the very beginning of the process any likely difficulties or drawbacks in the overall plan for the product group.

Microsoft reviews the proposal, and then notifies you of the result. If the proposal is declined, your developer account manager will advise you about how to proceed.

How to submit your proposal

If you are developing a game, download a Concept Submission form from Ingestion Workbooks on the Xbox Game Developer (XGD) site. Complete the form, and then submit it to your Microsoft account team.

If you are developing an application, contact Xbox App Partner Requests (xboxapps@microsoft.com).

If you are an ID@Xbox developer, you should have been sent a link to the Game Information Form (GIF) where you submit your game concept. If you have questions, contact idgames@xbox.com.
