Populate a Shared Group

In order to start collaborating more closely, as a development partner you must provide the title team with your studio moniker so that they can establish a Shared Group via XDP in order to grant you more direct access to the title. In order to do this, please use the instructions in the following sections to obtain your studio moniker and populate the shared group with users from your studio.

Obtain Your Publisher Moniker

To obtain your publisher moniker

  1. Identify your XDP Admin. If you don’t know your XDP Admin, contact xdphelp@microsoft.com.
  2. Have the XDP Admin go to XDP, and in the upper left click Manage to open the drop-down menu, then click Access Management. On the left hand side is a list of groups, and each group has a four-letter moniker before it. For example: MONK.Administrators where MONK is the moniker. You can also see your home moniker within the URL, for example “https://xdp.xboxlive.com/Submission/MONK/Product/”.

Note In the case of an “Organizational Administrator”, the administrator might see groups with multiple and different monikers within their access management experience. The URL-based approach in step 2 should tell them the one they belong to.

  3. Email the moniker to your partner contact. Once the shared group is set up your partner contact will email you the name of the group. Then proceed with the next section to populate the group with users.

Populate the Shared Group

To populate the shared group

  1. Have the XDP Admin go to XDP, and in the upper left click Manage to open the drop-down menu, then click Access Management.
  2. On the left hand side is a list of Groups, and the third section of groups is called Groups Shared With Me. Under this section find the group your partner contact set up for you. It will have the four-letter moniker of the partner studio, a period (.) and the name of the group. For example: PUBL.GroupName.
  3. Click the group and wait until the name in the top middle sections updates to reflect your group name. Now you can edit the group.

Note This may require scrolling up.

  4. On the right hand side you will see the list of users in your studio. You can search by name or by email. Click the + (plus) sign to add users into the shared group.

Note You are populating the group with users, but your partner contact must confirm them into the group before they will have the permissions associated with the group.

  5. Email your partner contact and let them know the group is populated and waiting for their confirmation.
  6. Any time you need to add additional users to the group, go through these same steps to populate the group with the new users and email your partner contact to confirm them.
