Intelligent Delivery

Intelligent Delivery is a set of features which allow content in a title XVC package to be tagged so that portions of the content can be selectively delivered to consoles based on the particular device type of the console as well as the language setting of the console.

When creating XVC packages, the developer annotates chunks in their layout file with specifiers. Specifiers fall into the following categories:

• Device: Declares which device-types the content in a specific chunk applies to.
• Language: Declares which language the content in a chunk applies to.
• Content type: Tells the system and users more information about the purpose of the content in a chunk as it pertains to gameplay types.
• Custom tags: Allows developers to mark groups of chunks as being related, which simplifies checking if the chunks needed to run a title are all present on the user’s system.
• OnDemand content: Allows titles to designate content which is not installed by default, but can be installed at the request of either the user or the title.
