Kinect and Natural User Interface

The Natural User Interface (NUI) enables users to control an app by using gestures and voice commands rather than handheld controllers. It is the preferred user interface technology for the Xbox One console. Each Xbox One console includes a sensor array for gathering sound and image data, and that array is required for the full capability of the console to be available.

The NUI platform provides two broad areas of support for you to implement your app’s interface: sensor and speech. Use sensor data in your app to implement an interface based on body position, expressions, and gestures. Use speech recognition in your app to implement an interface based on spoken commands.
