The Xbox Live marketplace services, also known as Entertainment Discovery Services (EDS), provide several APIs for the following purposes:

• Discovery of game content
• Acquisition of additional metadata about items
• Enumeration of and viewing details of users’ inventories
• Assisting the use of the service as a whole

Only games running on the Xbox One console, on a Windows Phone device, or on Xbox.com can use this service.
