Connecting to the Development Kit
Kinect Studio connects to the development kit by using a TCP/IP connection. The sensor array must be operational and properly connected to the dev kit.
Kinect Studio tries to connect to the default dev kit. If no default dev kit has been set, or a connection to the default dev kit fails, Kinect Studio displays a dialog to request the name or IP address of the dev kit.

Improving Performance
Playing and recording sensor data requires sufficient computer resources; use the following tips for best performance.
- Make sure that your computer has sufficient RAM to run your operating system. Kinect Studio runs best on Windows 7 or Windows 8.
- Use a computer with a fast hard disk drive with plenty of unfragmented, empty space.
- Make more system resources available by running as few other applications as possible.
- Close any Kinect Studio instances that aren’t being used.
