Configure Product Relationships

The relationships between your products, which you specify in Xbox Developer Portal (XDP), are used in catalog listings and royalties for your products.

When you create a product, you specify its type. So, when you specify a relationship between one product and another, you simply select the related product from a list; the nature of the relationship is implicit, based on the type of product (for example, a consumable game add-on).

Note that if you add a new base game it will become the parent of your current product, which will affect royalty payouts.

Add or remove a product relationship

To specify a relationship between products, navigate in XDP to one of the products in the relationship that you want to add or remove. When viewing a product in XDP, you can use the following procedures to specify and remove product relationships.

To specify a product relationship

1. On the left-hand navigation menu, or under Product Configuration, click Product Relationship Setup.
   XDP displays the Related Products page for the product.
   
2. Under All Products, locate the product that you want to associate with the current product.
   You can filter the list of unrelated products by entering text in the search box for All Products and pressing Enter. You can also use the arrows at the bottom of the list to page up and down through the search results.
   
3. Next to the product that you want to associate with the current product, click the plus sign.
   Doing so will move the product that you selected from the list of unrelated products to the list of related products under Related Products.
   
4. If you have additional products to associate with your currently selected product, repeat the preceding steps.
   
5. When you are done adding related products, click Save.
   After saving, XDP returns to the main page for the selected product.
   

To remove a product relationship

1. On the left-hand navigation menu, or under Product Configuration, click Product Relationship Setup.
   XDP displays the Related Products page for the product.
   
2. Under Related Products, locate the product that you want to remove from the list of related products.
   You can filter the list of related products by entering text in the search box for Related Products and pressing Enter. You can also use the arrows at the bottom of the list to page up and down through the search results.
   
3. Next to the product that you want to remove from the list, click the minus sign.
   Doing so will move the product that you selected from the list of related products to the list of unrelated products under All Products.
   
4. If you have additional products to disassociate from your currently selected product, repeat the preceding steps.
   
5. When you are done removing related products, click Save.
   After saving, XDP returns to the main page for the selected product.
