Windows Performance Analyzer

Windows Performance Analyzer (WPA) is a tool that creates graphs and data tables of Event Tracing for Windows (ETW) events. It is used to view event trace logs collected from an Xbox One console using tracelog.

Obtaining Windows Performance Analyzer

The Win10 Performance Toolkit can be installed and run on Win 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. This version of WPA has stability improvements, better searching capabilities, and the Stack Tags feature.

  1. Navigate to https://dev.windows.com/en-US/downloads/windows-10-sdk.
  2. Click the button to Download the standalone SDK.
  3. Run setup for the Windows standalone SDK.
  4. Select Windows Performance Toolkit the features of setup.
  5. Click Install.

After install is done, WPA will be available under:

      <Win10SDKInstallRoot>\Windows Performance Toolkit\wpa.exe
