This topic provides procedures for managing changes to an existing development account.
For information about how to create a new development account, see Create Development Accounts for an XDP User Account.
Sections in this topic:
Every development account-automatically and always-has exactly the same run-time access permissions as those currently granted to the Xbox Developer Portal (XDP) user account that owns it.
For example, if John’s XDP user account has been granted access to Sandbox 01, then all the development accounts owned by John’s XDP user account can access and run all the product instances in Sandbox 01.
For more information, see Grant Run-time Access.
To make changes to an existing development account profile, log in from http://live.com by using the credentials for that development account (not the credentials for the XDP user account that owns it). Then make the changes as you would for any other Live account.
If you lose or forget the password for one of your development accounts, or if your account is compromised, you will need to create a new account and remove the old one. For more information on creating development accounts, see Create Development Accounts for an XDP User Account. To remove a development account, navigate to the Manage Development Accounts page (click your username in the upper right, then click Development Accounts on the left side of the page) and click Remove in the row of the account.
Passwords must not contain the user’s entire samAccountName (Account Name) value or entire displayName (Full Name) value. Neither validation is case-sensitive.
Passwords must contain characters from three of the following five categories:
Passwords must also be at least 6 characters long.
Reputation is a metric which represents a player’s standing in the Xbox Live community. Other users can submit feedback about a player, and that feedback will raise or lower the player’s reputation. Game developers can then decide to, for instance, group multiplayer lobbies by reputation. Reputation is self-healing over time, so if a user has bad reputation, their reputation will slowly improve if they don’t receive more negative feedback.
Sometimes you may wish to manually set a development account’s reputation in order to test certain features of your product. In these cases, you can set reputation through the XDP UI:
Note For the updated reputation to be reflected on console, the user must log out and then log back into their console account.
