Publish to a Development Sandbox

To publish to a development sandbox

  1. In the Search For list, select Product, type the name of your product, and click the Find icon.
  2. If needed, select Product in the left column, locate the name of your product, and select it.
  3. In the Product Instances table, locate the row for the product instance you wish to publish and click Publish in the Publishing column.

  4. In the Destination Sandbox list, select a destination.
  5. In the Select what you want to publish section, select the items, such as Catalog, Service Configuration, and Binaries, that you want to publish.
    • If you want to publish the Catalog, you may select either Catalog, Marketplace Availability, and Game HelporMarketplace Availability only.
    • If you want to publish the Service Configuration, select all of the facets that you want to publish.
    • If you want to publish binaries, select the file name(s) under Binaries. For each file, in the Update to existing published binary package? section, select either Yes or No. Then, set the Available Date and Time (UTC) and Mandatory Date and Time (UTC) information.

      Note The Binaries option will not display if you have not previously uploaded binaries for the product instance. Additionally, you must have XVC and EKB files associated with a content package to select the Binaries option. To learn more, see Create and Manage Content Packages.

  6. Click Submit.
  7. If you are publishing binaries for an SRA package, you have the option of marking your package as “end of life” and replacing it with a Universal Windows Platform app. For more information, see Upgrade SRA to UWP app (SRA end of life).
  8. Click the Compare Changes button on the Service Configuration Tasks page. The Compare Data page will open in a new tab or window.
  9. On the Compare Data page, select the sections you want to compare, such as Service Configuration and/or Catalog and Marketplace, and then click Compare.
  10. Review the results of each line item. You may see the following options:
    • A circle with an arrow pointing to the left. This indicates the item exists only in the product instance for the sandbox on the left.
    • A circle with an arrow pointing to the right. This indicates the item exists only in the product instance for the sandbox on the right.
    • A circle with a not equal sign. This indicates that the item exists in both sandboxes, but doesn’t match. Additional details regarding the mismatch are provided.
  11. When you are finished reviewing the results, close the tab or window.
  12. On the Confirm Publish page, click Confirm.
