This topic provides specific procedures for creating and working with products in the Xbox Developer Portal (XDP). For descriptions of the types of products that you can create in XDP, see XDP Content: Product Types.
For an overview of the various design-time content containers-product groups, products, product instances, and content packages-see XDP Content: Storage and Access.

After creating your new product, XDP creates the first instance of your product and automatically displays the web page for the product.
For some types of products, you must choose whether to create an exclusive app or a shared app. An exclusive app has exclusive access to a majority of the resources on a console; traditional game titles are exclusive apps, and the console executes these one at a time. A shared app has fewer resources available, and multiple shared apps may run simultaneously on a console.
For more information about apps on Xbox One, see “App Types” in “Application Model” in the documentation for the Xbox One XDK or the Xbox One Application Development Kit, depending on your access. This topic is available in the Xbox One XDK Documentation.
For your new product, you can begin providing the artwork and metadata for both the product and its first product instance, creating additional product instances (for use in other sandboxes), and completing the product instance or instances by setting up the service configuration and uploading the necessary file or files to each instance.
For detailed instructions about working with product instances and the content packages that they contain, see Create and Manage Product Instances and Create and Manage Content Packages.
To grant users access to your product or product groups, see Grant Design-Time Access or Grant Run-time Access.
Use these steps to determine the publisher ID for your product. This is the ID for the account you have access to, and may not be the Publisher ID for your parent account. If you need the Publisher ID that the product will list as it’s publisher on xbox.com, contact your account management team.
After you change the name of your product, the new name will appear on the main information page for the product, in the upper-left corner.
Each product automatically inherits the default genre specified for its product group, but you can make subsequent changes in that configuration.
At this time, XDP does not support deletion of a product.
